The Fellowship of the Ring | The Two Towers | The Return of the King

Pretty much everybody are hoping against anything that Frodo and Sam will make it alive. In fact they're rationing lembas bread and following Gollum through unknown, treacherous lands, but other that that.

Mordor is SO depressing!

Horray! Most of the Fellowship meet up again: Gandalf leads Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli to Merry and Pippin, who are having a great time smoking in the ruins of Isengard which Treebeard's got his mates to trash. Saruman (bad guy, remember) is stuck in his tower amongst all the mess! Pippin accidentally finds the ball from the bad wizard's staff, when they struggle, and can't keep away because it's...erm, calling him. The ball is Saruman's way of talking to the Dark Lord.

This is the ball

Pip has a look but gets in trouble as the Dark Lord can see/read your mind through that ball, so he may have put the Company in danger.

***

Turns out when Pip looked in the ball he could see the DL's mind, too. So now the good guys know DL plans to get Minas Tirith (Minas Tirith is near Mordor and inhabited by men). Gandalf jumps on Shadowfax (his horse) and rides Pippin there. He has a plan B if plan A won't work.

Oh I see, it's in the script

Plan A into action: Gandalf speaks with the ruler Denethor, who is also the dad of Boromir and Faramir. After a long chat about his death and how valiant he was, Pippin offers himself to Denethor's service. He can't sit back and watch everyone else fight.

**thinks** What fun...

Arwen (Aragorn's love and vice versa) is on the way, erm, away. She's been told to leave by her dad Elrond, basically because the Aragorn's side isn't looking too good (him being a mere mortal and all) and if he dies, Arwen will be all alone. So she's leaving with the Elves. Or is she?

In Rohan and without Pip, Merry ends up in Theoden's service. That's okay, cos I like him. :-)
