The Fellowship of the Ring | The Two Towers | The Return of the King

Yay! Pointy ears!

You are strange. If you want to know anything about LOTR, it's who this guy is.

Okay... who is this?

Frodo son of Drogo, or to most people - the Ringbearer.

Sounds posh! What's he do?

He bears the One Ring. Didn't you guess that? Frodo is an ordinary Hobbit-

They all are...and then he gets the Ring and then?

He goes on a journey to destroy it. The end.

Does he destroy it?

Do you read storylines at all?

Frodo quote: "We have no choice but to trust him..."

Sam

Sam Gamgee is a gardener.

So he's a boring character?

No way! If it weren't for Sam Frodo wouldn't- wait, I'm not supposed to tell you the end.

Ha ha!

Humph! Sam is a typical Hobbit who enjoys six meals a day, not including snacks... and mushrooms. No Hobbit is fit for travel, or riding horseback or anything cool like that - but they're the best friends you can have.

I get the impression you like them... so why haven't you written any Hobbit fan fiction?

Because everyone else likes Elves?

Sam quote: "Give me your hand. Take my hand. Don't you let go"

Merry is...in my opinion thoughtful, and like a brother to Pippin. He watches out for him.

I thought they were a mischievous pair?

They are, that's why you gotta love 'em! I'm saying Merry catches on to how dangerous what they're doing really is, before Pippin does.

Oh. So if he looks out for him, didn't he notice that throwing stones in Moria was going to

Shh! Don't tell every one!

Merry quote: (fireworks go off) "That was good, let's get another one"

The 'fool of a Took' who can't seem to do things right, but has the biggest heart, I reckon.

Aaaw. I wonder why he comes - being so short and everything.

Sam, Merry and Pippin are all close Hobbit friends of Frodo, so they're not leaving his side for something as simple as the end of the world. Pip is the youngest of the Fellowship (I believe the oldest is about 3000) and yes, pretty unprepared, but he tries!

What a fighter! So does he do anything heroic like, say, die in the end?

No...but Boromir dies protecting Pippin, so he feels he should offer his services (if any) to his father, Denethor Except the death of his son has made him decide something terrible...

What is it?

Go read the storyline!

Pippin quote: It's talking Merry! The tree is talking!"
